Two sisters foil each other through this portrait of Nazi occupation in France. One sister wants to be part of the resistance, the other ends up being forced to have an SS officer reside in her home as her husband is in a war camp. Both sisters do what they can do to survive wartime.
This book is a rivoting page-turner.
